The Club

History

The founding father s of The Graduate Club held their first meeting on November 4, 1892. New Haven already had social clubs for undergraduates, but this was to be a special place for four - year college and university graduates. By 1902 the club had outgrown its first location. They purchased and renovated the Jonathan Mix house, which, since 1832, had been owned and occupied by Eli Whitney Blake and various family members.
It then became the new home of The Graduate Club.

In 2012 the Graduate Club acquired a neighboring club and rebranded itself as The Elm City Club. As a premier social club in downtown New Haven, located on the historic New Haven Green and surrounded by Yale University, the club is known for its superb cuisine and exceptional service
